A curious professional that values family, communication, honesty, and time

Panel 1

To simplify complex ideas through storytelling and analogies

Panel 2

Family and Friends

I exist to spend time with family and friends. They are the source of my happiness and motivation.

To me, time’s value is higher than money’s. Money cannot buy friends, but time can. I value my time and am conscience of how I am spending it so that I can efficiently use it .

I admire individuals that asks questions and I find myself asking questions as well. Why do things work the way they work? Why does an egg cook in a pan? Why does heat cook the egg? What happens to the protein of the egg?

Be Impeccable With Your Words – The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
Being honest and impeccable with words builds trust. When I say something, I mean it. If I don’t fulfill my word, I feel guilty and will apologize profusely. I want to be reliable and the first step to being reliable is to be impeccable with my words. I have experienced a lack of honesty and impeccable words too often that it is a trait that drives me absolutely insane.

I desire to communicate by both listening, hearing, and speaking with clarity. I believe that everything can be explained through a food analogy and I aim to be able to explain anything to a 5-year old.

Affirmations and Gratitude

This is my latest value and it has been the most positive value in my life. There is a lot of negative in the world and I want to counteract that by showing my gratitude to others whenever possible.

Kevin’s Journey

Omnigo Sofeware, St. Louis, MO – 2019 to Present

Application Support Analyst

We deliver innovative solutions that enable you to better protect your people, safeguard your brand, and secure your property and assets.

The story here is still being written.

Secure24, St. Louis, MO – 2018

Sales Associate – September 2018 – October 2018

An ADT Authorized Dealer ranked 4th in the nation. They focus on providing home security to new homeowners.

I learned how to listen to others and build rapport as well as push myself in the face of rejection. With up to 100 calls per day, I trained how to work in a mentally difficult environment.

Carvana, St. Louis, MO – 2018

Customer Field Advocate – June 2018 to September 2018

A used car dealership that employs more than 1000 employees. They deliver used cars that are ordered online by customers in 60+ markets since starting 2012. They became a public company in 2017.

Unfortunately, I did not learn a lot from this position. The main thing I learned was that could do more than what the position asked for.

Starbucks, St. Louis, MO – 2015 to 2018

Trainer April 2015 to June 2018
Shift SupervisorMay 2016 to November 2016

A Retail Coffee Company that employs more than 10,000+ employees. It is one of my best experiences with a large company that has taught me valuable customer service skills by making the moment right with the customer and the teaching technique, learn-in-the-moment, by complimenting, supporting, and then explaining the reason why Starbucks’ standards exist.

I opened with the Ferguson, Missouri store in May 2016 as a Shift Supervisor. There I supported the team by setting up the store during my closing shifts for the morning team. These tasks include, but are not limited, to cleaning and prepping ingredients for the morning rush. In November 2016, I transferred out and voluntarily stepped down from that store so that I could make time for friends and family. Closing the store each week prevented me from seeing those I cared about.

US Cloud, St. Louis, MO 2016 to 2018

Managed Services Engineer – December 2016 to May 2018

A small technology hosting company that employs ~25 people. It has existed for over 20 years hosting servers for clients and supporting Microsoft SharePoint environments for those clients hosted by them or on-premise.

This was my first foray into the technology industry and a heavy office environment. I began as a Level 1 Support Engineer and was transferred to the Managed Services Team within 4 months of being hired. At this company, I learned the value of training material for employees to succeed and the importance of communication. I contributed to this company by creating a handful of training documents for specific SharePoint services.

UP Global, Seattle, WA – 2014

Intern March 2014 to May 2014

At the time, it was a small non-profit company that supported entrepreneurs by funding Start-Up Weekend events for entrepreneurs to meet, explore new ideas, and possibly start a company. It was acquired by TechStars in 2015.

This was my first full-time profession after college. Here I held the position of intern and did various activities to support the managers. This position was also my first move out of my hometown. Here I learned the hardships of life by being pseudo-homeless and missing the things I valued at home. I did not contribute to this company and instead left this company to return to the things I valued.

Webster University, St. Louis, MO – Graduated December 2013

Bachelors of Science – August 2010 to December 2013

In 2013, I graduated with a Biology Degree and I felt like I didn’t achieve anything. In fact, graduating in December 2013 is one of my biggest regrets and it is the only thing I would change about my life. What I would have done different would have been to take a semester off to soul search and discover who I was, but I didn’t and now I live with that small, but costly mistake everyday.

The Biology Degree knowledge I learned at Webster University is still used today, but not professionally. Instead it is used in one of my favorite pastimes, cooking. The kitchen is my domain in the house and I am prepared to cook any dish, even if I mess up. Its the best learning experience I could ask for.

Panel 4

Kevin is looking for a position where he can bring his values with him while pursuing his mission. He values his eulogy resume more than his career resume because if those around him do not succeed, he does not believe he has made an impact in the world.

I created this site in an attempt to highlight my soft skills. My hard skills attempt can be found on my Linkedin.

Please note, I’m not perfect, I just try to do my best each day that passes. Mistakes have and will continue to be made, but I hope to learn from each and every single one of them.
